WHO IS VIRGIN VOYAGES FOR?
Virgin Voyages is an adults only cruise line (you have to be over 18) to sail and is designed to be very different to your average cruise line - they dont have formal dress codes, buffets, set dining times. They are for sailors who want to have a great time in a welcoming environment. Whether you are a foodie, a gym bunny, a relaxation queen, a partier, someone extorverted or introverted, theres something for everyone on Virgin Voyages (except those who want a traditional cruising experience.)
ISNT IT A CRUISE FOR SWINGERS?
In short, absolutely not. In long - Virgin Voyages is an adults only cruise line, so they don’t have to worry about the tone of things like entertainment as there aren’t any young ears around, so it may seem a little more grown up - but thats the point of going on an adults only cruise right?
CAN I GET A DRINKS PACKAGE?
Virgin takes a different approach to beverages onboard. Basic bevvys are included with your fare (think sodas, water, filter coffee, basic teas) and then you can pay as you go or prepay a bar tab (where you get a bonus amount depending on what you purchase) for drinks you wish to buy onboard. This means high quality crafted cocktails not watered down bulk ones and the ability to enjoy what you consume rather than feeling like you are missing out on a port day.
DO THEY OFFER SUITES?
Yes, Virgin Voyages offers regular Cabins as well as Rockstar Suites. Within the suite category there are 4 types of suite that are regular Rockstar suites and 4 types of suite that are considered Mega Rockstar suites that come with a lot of additional perks and inclusions.
WHATS INCLUDED WITH MY CRUISE FARE?
Virgin cruises aren’t all inclusive, but they do include many things included that you won’t find on other cruise lines.
Virgin Voyages includes:
Basic Beverages (think sodas, water, filter coffee, basic teas)
Basic Wifi
Specialty dining at the 20+ eateries (no upcharges thanks)
Tips & Gratutities (no additional daily amount)
Shows & Entertainment (if something has alcohol included, it usually has a small charge)
Group Fitness Classes
It’s worth comparing this extra value when looking at the cost of your cruise.
WHAT THINGS WOULD I PAY EXTRA FOR?
You can quite happily have a voyage where you don’t spend much extra onboard however there are things that will cost extra, such as:
Shore Things - this is the shore excursions that Virgin curates at different ports of call
Entertainment that includes alcohol - This could be the Grog Walk where you have included beverages at each stop of a bar crawl through the ship or one of the Dinner Shows onboard such as Another Rose
Shopping in the ‘High Street’ stores onboard where there is a mixture of Virgin Voyages merchandise, luxury bags and watches,
Spa Services such as massages, thermal spa access, haircuts and blow outs etc are also chargeable items onboard
Tattoos and Piercings at the onboard parlor Squid Ink
Gambling in the casino on slots and table games and as part of Bingo with the Diva
Alcoholic and Specialty drinks are charged on consumption whether thats a cocktail, wine, beer, barista coffee or specialty juice.
Depending on your booking, you may have included Bar Tab that can cover the cost of beverages only or you may have Sailor Loot that can be used for almost anything else on board that you charge to your cabin.
